Vätternrundan 2025 Information

Our Mission

We are excited to announce that Pain Free Power is assembling its first-ever group to take on the legendary Vätternrundan—a 315km cycling challenge around Sweden's stunning Lake Vättern. Our goal is to complete this epic ride in just 9 hours and 30 minutes. This isn’t just about crossing the finish line; it’s about the journey you take with us to reach this milestone.

Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or new to endurance challenges, we’re here to support you every step of the way. From personalized training plans to group rides, we’ll prepare you physically and mentally to achieve this ambitious goal.

  • Dynamic Training Plan

    You’ll receive an easy-to-follow training plan via TrainingPeaks, tailored to help you build the strength, endurance, and skills needed for Vätternrundan.

    - Training sessions will begin from September 2024.

  • Physiological Testing

    To ensure your training is effective, we start with an initial physiological test to accurately set your training zones. This helps us tailor your workouts to your fitness level.

  • Race Kit

    You will receive a Pain Free Power cycling jersey and socks to use on race day. This will help us all feel part of the team and keep us all easy to spot during the ride and stops.

  • Accommodations and Transport

    We’ll take care of your accommodation and transport to the race, so you can focus entirely on your performance.

  • Product Discounts

    Get exclusive discounts on essential products, including nutrition, turbo trainers, and even bikes, to ensure you have everything you need for training and race day.

  • Online Community Access

    Gain entry to our exclusive online community where you’ll find valuable content, training tips, and direct access to our experienced coaches. Connect with fellow participants, share your journey, and stay motivated.

* Please note you still need to sign up and pay for the event entry with Vätternrundan seperately - you will recieve detailed instructions on how to do so and code join our start group around October/November.

Group Ride Structure

To prepare you for Vätternrundan, we’ve structured group rides that will help you get comfortable with riding in a team and building the necessary endurance.

Group Ride Schedule:

  • When: Every Saturday at 8:00 AM
  • Where: Various locations (details shared weekly)

Outdoor Rides:
We'll run outdoor rides every Saturday until October. These rides are all about familiarizing yourself with group dynamics and getting to know your teammates. Expect a mix of terrains and routes to keep things exciting and challenging.

Indoor/Gravel Rides:
As the weather changes, we’ll move indoors for those who prefer to avoid the cold and rain. For the adventure seekers, we’ll also offer gravel rides. Choose the option that best suits your style and comfort.

Structured Rides:
Starting in April, our rides will become more structured to align closely with the training plan. We’ll gradually increase the distances and intensity to ensure you’re in peak condition by race day.

Ride Distances:
19/04 - 80km ride and group meeting

26/04 - 80km ride

03/05 - 150km ride including lunch stop

10/05 - 100km ride 

17/05 - 180km ride including short fika stop

24/05 - 120km ride 

31/05 - 220km ride including short fika stop 

07/06 - 120km ride and group meeting 

These group rides are designed to help you build the confidence and teamwork needed to tackle Vätternrundan with ease. It's not just about training; it's about building a community of cyclists who support each other through every pedal stroke.

Iain Findlay

Iain brings a wealth of experience to the Pain Free Power team. As the Managing Director, he is not only passionate about cycling but also about helping others achieve their goals. Iain has previously worked as a cycling guide in Mallorca, where he led groups through challenging and scenic routes. His deep understanding of cycling dynamics, combined with his expertise as a coach, ensures that every ride is both safe and enjoyable. Iain’s leadership and motivation will keep you on track as you prepare for the epic Vätternrundan challenge.

Pain Free Power Test Leader & Svensk Klassiker Coach

Jakob Larsson

Jakob is the Test Leader at Pain Free Power and an experienced coach specializing in the Svensk Klassiker, a series of endurance events in Sweden. His expertise in physiological testing and training zone setting is instrumental in crafting personalized training plans that are both effective and achievable. Jakob’s analytical approach, combined with his passion for endurance sports, ensures that every participant reaches their peak performance. He’ll be there to support you with his deep knowledge and practical advice, making sure you're fully prepared for the challenge ahead.

With Iain and Jakob leading the way, you’ll have the guidance and support of two highly experienced coaches who are committed to helping you conquer Vätternrundan.
